PSYCH-K®

PSYCH-K™ is a user-friendly way to rewrite the software of your mind and change the printout of your life!

Beyond Affirmations, Will Power and Positive Thinking

Begun in 1988, PSYCH-K™ includes information and processes for dramatically accelerating personal growth. This unique technology is a blend of various tools for change, some contemporary and some ancient. Like many effective innovations in the world, PSYCH-K™ was the result of a “series of intuitive leaps” generated by years of research and thousands of sessions with individuals and groups. It’s a safe, non-invasive, and effective way to change outdated perceptions and beliefs at the subconscious level of the mind. When you change your beliefs, you change your life!

“You Create Your Own Reality”

Your reality is created by your “beliefs.” These beliefs, usually subconscious, are often the result of lifelong “programming,” and represent a powerful influence on human behavior. Studies in neuroscience indicate that as much as 95% of our consciousness is actually subconscious. It’s the subconscious mind that is the store-house for our attitudes, values, and beliefs. It is from our beliefs that we form perceptions about the world and ourselves, and from these perceptions we develop behaviors. Usually, it is self-defeating behaviors we wish to change. Often the most effective way to change a behavior is to change the subconscious belief(s) that support it. Based on years of split-brain research, also known as Brain Dominance Theory, PSYCH-K™ provides a variety of ways to quickly identify and transform beliefs that “sabotage” you into beliefs that “support” you, in any area of your life. Many people harbor self-sabotaging subconscious beliefs in the areas of financial prosperity, self-worth, health and body issues such as weight loss, as well as relationships and career.

Origins of PSYCH-K™

Robert M. Williams, M.A. is the originator of PSYCH-K™. He is the author of the book, PSYCH-K™…The Missing Peace In Your Life! Rob is also co-host of the popular DVD/Video, The Biology of Perception…The Psychology of Change, with colleague Dr. Bruce Lipton. He is a nationally recognized speaker, seminar leader and talk show guest. PSYCH-K™ is a reflection of his personal commitment to help individuals recognize their divinity, discover their greatness, and become the peace they seek.

How PSYCH-K™ Works

Your beliefs are the foundation of your personality. They define you as worthy or worthless, powerful or powerless, competent or incompetent, trusting or suspicious, belonging or outcast, self-reliant or dependent, flexible or judgmental, fairly treated or victimized, loved or hated. Your beliefs have far-reaching consequences, both positive and negative, in your life. Beliefs affect your moods, relationships, job performance, self-esteem, physical health, even your religious or spiritual outlook. With so much at stake, it is imperative that we know how to change self-sabotaging beliefs that are limiting us into beliefs that support us. That’s what PSYCH-K™ is all about. In order to better understand how to identify and change beliefs, it is necessary to know a little about how the brain works.

Brain Dominance Theory

A great deal of research has been conducted for decades on what has come to be called “brain dominance” theory (also known as split-brain research). The findings of this research basically indicate that each hemisphere of the brain tends to specialize in and preside over different functions, process different kinds of information, and deal with different kinds of problems. The LEFT Hemisphere

  • uses logic/ reason
  • thinks in words
  • deals in parts/ specifics
  • will analyze/break apart
  • thinks sequentially
  • is time bound
  • is extroverted
  • characterized as male
  • identifies with the individual
  • is ordered/controlled

The RIGHT Hemisphere

  • uses emotions/intuition/creativity
  • thinks in pictures
  • deals in wholes/relationship
  • will synthesize/put together
  • thinks simultaneously/holistically
  • is time free
  • is introverted
  • characterized as female
  • identifies with the group
  • is spontaneous/free

While our birthright is the natural ability to simultaneously utilize both sides of the brain, life experiences often trigger a dominance of one side over the other when responding to specific situations. The more emotionally charged the experience (usually traumatic), the more likely it will be stored for future reference, and the more likely we will automatically overidentify with only one hemisphere of the brain when faced with similar life experiences in the future.

Is Your Life Running on Auto-Pilot?

These conclusions (i.e. beliefs, attitudes, values, etc.) drawn from past experience are stored in the subconscious mind. So, while we may be mostly unaware of their influence on us, they “direct” our observable actions and behaviors. Studies in neuroscience indicate that as much as 95% of our consciousness is actually subconscious. These subconscious beliefs create the perceptual filters through which we respond to life’s challenges. They form the basis for our actions and reactions to each new situation in our lives. The ability to perform effectively, both personally and professionally, is profoundly affected by such beliefs as “I am competent”, “I am powerful”, or “I am safe.” With beliefs like these, you can undertake challenging projects with confidence and stay focused on the task at hand. But, if you have beliefs like, “I don’t really trust myself to do a good job” or “How things turn out is not really in my control,” you will proceed hesitantly, fearing mistakes, critism, and failure.

Do you recognize some of these common “limiting” beliefs”?

“No matter what I do or how hard I try, it’s never good enough.”"The decisions I make usually turn out wrong.”"If people knew the ‘real’ me they wouldn’t like me.”"I blame others (my boss, co-workers, my spouse, my parents, etc.) for my problems.”"I shouldn’t try anything new or risky because I’ll probably screw it up anyway.”"I can’t trust people to support me. All they really care about is themselves.”"My opinion doesn’t really matter.”"What I do isn’t really important.”"It’s not safe to ask others to help me because I can’t trust them to do the job right.”It’s disturbing enough that negative beliefs may be a reflection of reality, but what’s more disturbing is that they actually help create that reality. Beliefs establish the limits of what we can achieve. As Henry Ford once said, “If you believe you can or if you believe you can’t…you’re right!” This is especially true when beliefs are subconscious. Most of us agree, and behavioral scientists confirm, that our behaviors are a direct reflection of our beliefs, perceptions and values, generated from past experiences. However, the difficulty seems to be in knowing how to change old negative beliefs, perceptions and values into new positive ones.Rescripting limiting subconscious beliefs is similar to reprogramming a personal computer. Using PSYCH-K™ techniques, a kind of “mental keyboard” to your own brain, you can increase “cross-talk” between the two brain hemispheres, thereby achieving a more “whole-brained” state, which is ideal for changing subconscious beliefs. In addition, when right and left hemispheres are in simultaneous communication, the qualities and characteristics of both hemispheres are available to maximize your full response potential.PSYCH-K™ helps you quickly and easily communicate directly with your subconscious mind, and while using whole-brain integration techniques, change old self-sabotaging beliefs into new positive ones that support you, in just minutes!“Truly the greatest gift you can give is that of your own self-transformation.”- Chinese Philosopher - Lao Tzu

What is a PSYCH-K™ Balance?

A PSYCH-K™ Balance is a technique designed to create a balanced indentification with both hemispheres of the brain. This whole-brain state is ideal for reprogramming the mind with new positive beliefs, reducing unwanted stress and helping you to access your “full response potential” in meeting life’s challenges. It is important to remember that balancing creates potential, you create results through your actions! For example, if you balance to become an Olympic athlete, you must still do the necessary training and physical conditioning to realize your goal. The balance will transform any subconscious resistance you may have to achieving the goal, so that the effort you put forward in training will produce maximum results.Another example might be balancing for a health-related issue. While balancing will help to reduce the stress and inner conflict that may be supporting the presence of the dis-ease in your body, it is still important to take all the appropriate physical steps to help the body to heal itself, i.e. medical treatment, diet, exercise, rest, etc.Muscle testing is used as an easy and effective method of detecting the presence or absence of stress (i.e. inner conflict) in the subconscious mind. It is used to accurately identify subconscious truths as well as establishing a convenient “yes”/”no” communication system with the subconscious.

How Long Does It Take For A Balance to Work?

The results of a balance may be felt instantaneously or may evolve over time (hours, days, weeks or longer). For example, if your goal is to find a new job, releasing the fear of changing jobs or being unemployed, may be felt at the time of the balance. However, acquiring a new job may take additional time, i.e. researching new career opportunities, interviewing, etc.

How Long Does A Balance Last?

Balances seem to last until they are no longer useful to the subconscious mind or until you decide to balance for a new goal. Life is an evolutionary process, so what you balance for at one point in your life may be inappropriate at another time. Without the use of PSYCH-K™, life itself would remind you when it is time to change some aspect of your reality. Unfortunately, the reminder often takes the form of trauma and drama in order to get your attention. PSYCH-K™ enables you to consciously direct key changes in your life without unnecessary pain or difficulty. In the event that you find yourself re-creating behaviors or thoughts that you have previously balanced to change, it is useful to ask yourself, “What benefit do I gain from the old thoughts or behaviors?” When this question is considered openly and honestly, the result is usually very revealing. You may wish to do another balance that takes into account the “secondary gain benefits,” which resulted in the manifestation of the old behaviors or situation.
